Abstract:
Hungarian adress forms from the Estonian point of view
This paper is about the feature of acquisition the system of Hungarian address
forms by Estonian students. Compared to Estonian, the Hungarian system of
address forms is more complicated. It consists of more forms, and thus it is not
easy to choose a correct one .
. 1I students of Hungarian, who are ali female, native speakers of Estonian,
aged from 22 to 26 and have studied Hungarian between 1,5 and 6 years, filled
the questionnaire of 11 questions.
The conclusion was, that Estonians use the complicated and multilevelled
system of Hungarian address terms in a quite linear way. They know and
understand most of Hungarian address terms, but are doubtful in using them (for
example the difference between maga and ön). Also the Estonian students often
use more polite address forms than their conversation partners opposite to them.
The Estonians probably do not use polite indirect forms (3Sg. forms: A tanárnő
már olvasta a cikkemet?) nor impersonal constructions (tetszik, szíveskedik).
