Abstract:
Abstract:
The topic of map-making first appears in the book of Moses, then it continues in Homer’s epos, Iliad and Aristophanes’s
comedy, The Clouds. The thoughts of modern authors like Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and Umbero Eco entertain us. We learn
about the fantastic characters of cartographers in the works of English authors, James Cowan and Andrew Crumey. The
“master cartographer” can be the hero of “comic strip” books written by Arlesto Scotch and Paul Gaudel. Two American authors,
Cristopher Monger and Dava Sobel elaborated the subject of altimetry and geographical positioning in their excellent novels.
