Absztrakt:
Within the current Pharmaceutical development models and constrained evaluation frameworks to capture the true value of improved therapeutic products such as value added medicines, there is a gap between the increased interest and the awareness of the scientific community about VAMs and the misconception and true recognition by different stakeholders such as payers, manufacturers, physicians and also the patients. This research project aims to define, and identify the benefits, challenges, and opportunities of VAMs and to exploit their value propositions through a proposed set of domains represented to be a solid base for developing an adequate and effective value assessment framework to ensure true recognition of their added values by the stakeholders based on local decision making context of different countries.
To Identify and define true value propositions (attributes), a structured Systematic Literature review was conducted at first to check on published data on Value-added medicines then, Value propositions were extracted based one a detailed data extraction
spreadsheet. The results showed a large number of value propositions addressing multiple healthcare inefficiencies and patients' unmet needs. These results show the importance of a significant policy changes in the pricing/reimbursement process and HTA assessment frameworks to elevate the incentives and enhance the acknowledgment and recognition of the value proposition of VAMs that deliver their expected true value to both the public and private.
