Salánk and Dobra. For the Examination of Language Mentality in Two Ethnic Hungarian Talking-Communities (According to Data of the New General Atlas of Hungarian Dialects) This study observes two villages by comparing the sociolinguistic surveys of the ÚMNyA. These two villages belong to the same hungarian dialectical region but differ in their location (Romania and Ukraine). The differences between the collated questions about the remainig of the dialect or the usage and the attitude for the dialect itself are significantly high. In both cases the situation is better in Dobra but even there it´s not completely positive. Most similarities are showing at the attitudes, according to this 100% of the questionned people finds their dialect nice, they hang on to it and they never felt ashamed of it; and this is a major stipulation for the dialect to remain. Later on two other countries from the region (Slovakia, Hungary) can be involved into this research, each with one searching point, so we can get a complete picture about the attitude and the present state of dialects.
