Abstract:
This essay presents the first steps towards the total deprivation
of the Hungarian Minority in Czechoslovakia from their rights that was taking
place in the turn of 1944 and 1945. The process had already started in the
winter of 1943, when President Eduard Benes and the Soviet leadership had
decided the restoration of the borders of 1937, and followed by the Governing
Program of Koscie in March 1945. However, the violent exchange of the population
came later.
