Abstract:
From 1964 on, political leaders of the Kádár-regime wanted to reestablish the international relations of Hungary. The French paid increasing attention to Hungary. For the country the relationship to de Gaulle's policy gained importance after the revolution in 1956. In 1965 Hungary wanted to expend its relations by the visit of János Péter to Paris. This was the ouverture to the West for Hungary.
