Abstract:
In December 2014, there was a catastrophic ice storm in the forest of Börzsöny Mountain in Hungary. This research presents result of uprooted areas caused by ice disturbance in 2014, using simple spectral index called Forest Index and classified into non-forest and forest map with threshold 3.7 DN value as a result of this methodology overall accuracies of maps was 84.5% which indicates that is efficient at highlighting forest/ non-forest cover, and kappa coefficient was 54%.
