Instagram is the third most popular social networking site in Israel,
especially among teenagers and young adults, a period that is considered crucial for emotional and psychosocial development. Since Instagram is mainly an image-based platform, the first aim of the study was to explore the impact of frequency of Instagram use
on body dissatisfaction and self-esteem The second aim of the study was to explore whether the users' social comparison orientation mediates the impact of frequency of Instagram use on levels of body dissatisfaction and self-esteem.
